Here’s another little tip on creating a self-watering system using rain water, a 50 gallon barrel and a soaker hose. Yes, gravity works, so why not use it? 🙂

With your clear tubing, you'll find that after some time, it'll be filled with Algae. Algae cannot grow without light, which is why people don't use clear tubing for any form of hydroponic system. Sorry.
Move mulch away from fruit tree base. Nothing should be near, let breath to avoid mold and rot.
