Here’s another little tip on creating a self-watering system using rain water, a 50 gallon barrel and a soaker hose. Yes, gravity works, so why not use it? 🙂

Roofing shingles are made from tar. It might be a good idea to run the water through a gravity filter to clean the water up.
Thanks, the little greenhouse is exactly what I need for my 2" and 3" seville orange trees. (or sour or bitter oranges that the citrus tree produce) Should be able to protect them from the FL sun and afternoon summer thunderstorms.
