  1. Yes Joe a sociopath can feel a certain amount of empathy for people that are close to them but often that empathy is only used for selfish reasons which the sociopath will gain from but as far as somebody they don't know they could give a shit random 90 y/o grandma getting beat to death in front of them not my problem

  2. Joe talking about psychopaths/sociopaths, not getting it, then saying he DOES get it, while doing that weird smug nose inhale… BTW, behaviour is how it's supposed to be spelled in proper English, you American fool.

Basically a psychopath is born, a sociopath is made by circumstances. Both can display lack of empathy, however a sociopath (involuntarily) switches empathy off in some circumstances whereas psychopaths lack empathy all together. A psycho has no real morals, but a sociopath has flexible morals. A psycho would actively look for somebody to hurt, whereas a sociopath would prefer never to hurt anybody, unless feeling provoked, which can make them go ballistic. A psycho has more self control whereas the socio is more impulsive. A sociopath would destroy another person in front of a crowd, whereas a psychopath would be more planned out and covert. A sociopath has an almost full range of emotions, whereas a psychopath only mirrors emotions while not actually feeling them. A psycho is more stress resistant, callous, planned out, less likely to get in trouble and those are traits that can help them in their careers. A sociopath is more impulsive, feels fear and stress and those traits leads to more difficulties in their lives. You can live with a sociopath and be treated fairly, but not with a psychopath. Be wary of both though.
