I think the nephalim were the dinosaurs. Egg laying carnivorous giant reptiles that skewed from Gods plan that animals would feed off of His energy alone. Instead, they brutally stole there energy by killing His creations, subsequently evolving into the kings of the earth. God hated what His creation had become and wanted to destroy it, but He saw a flicker of hope in one family. Noahs family.
I believe they were the mammalian common ancestors for all mammals or maybe even all animals that survived the coming flood. I believe the ark was DNA, and every single animal was loaded on to it 1 by 1, and 2 by 2; the double helix structure of DNA. We share more than 50% of our DNA with all life on earth, so it literally makes sense that every animal in existence is on it, unlike the idea one would hold if one were to take the parable literally.
The mammals were very different from their reptilian overlords. We mammals get our name from the fact that we breastfeed our young. Breastfeeding is a perfect symbol of true Love: the willing sacrifice of oneself for the objective betterment of another expecting nothing in return. God is Love. Love loves Love lol we give live birth and care for our young until they are independent instead of laying eggs and letting them fend for themselves. We naturally tend towards monogamy, and mourn our dead. All of that being said, we didn't escape the fall unscathed… we have eyes on the front of our faces and canine teeth for a reason. We, too, are carnivorous predators. Throughout our evolution, our sinful decisions to break from God's design made us stray so far from Gods plan, that we couldnt save ourselves anymore. There was no turning back to our old rightous ways, and we needed a savior if God or anyone ever wished for us to be clean again. For that, these carnivorous, sinful bodies have to die. They cannot enter the kingdom, but the spirit of that person, remains. If Love is in you, you are in Love. Love is God, and God lives forever. Once having the truth revealed to us, believeing, and submitting our will to God, we become encoded into His dna, or as the bible puts it, "Have our name written in the book of Life"
To be clear, i dont believe carnivorism is the full extent to our sin. Not of us, or the dinosaurs. I used it as a point because its an easily perceived example. As above, so below, or as the bible puts it, "What is loosed on earth is loosed in heaven, and what is bound on earth is bound in heaven." Truth reigns and is transcendant throughout all of reality. The existence of carnivorism in a creature is an obvious indicator of its broken nature, a nature that goes far beyond the physical, dont get me wrong.
I dont think we're talking about true homosapiens until we get to Abraham in the old testament. Many might ask, "what about Adam and eve? Arent they humans that came before Noah? I believe Adam and Eve is the story of our creation, all the way from single celled organisms, to humans as we attained self consciousness, or as the bible puts it, "the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil". I believe God created Eve through mitosis of Adam (cell division) or as the bible describes, by making her out of one of Adams ribs. I believe they were the first single celled organisms that discovered sexual reproduction, but they are evolving as the story goes on. They attain self consciousness, discover and practice sin, and are ejected from the garden containing the Tree of Life, which means they are subject to death, since they are no longer being mitotic, and must search and slave in the field for food for all of our days, and have painful childbirth.
People may ask "wouldnt that mean that Adam and Eve were alive for millennia?" And to that i say yes! Names in the bible are important and literally always carry meaning. I believe Adam and Eve is the name of man and all of his ancestors, including the non-human ones. That would also explain how other "people" before Abraham lived for so long as well! Perhaps they were names of species or subspecies, not just one person. For example, If an adaptation occured towards Gods plan, their name would once again change. In the bible, names are changed only when function changes. In biological classification, this too is true! Form is function, function is form. Species is classified separately amongst animals because their expereinces throughout evolution have led to the practice or presence of adaptations that make them unique. Perhaps unique enough for God to change their name, especially considering that the names of all persons spoken of before Abraham mean something. Methuselah for example lived for 969 years. His name means "after he, cometh the flood". Perhaps this was our last ancestral sub-species to be tormented by the reign of the nephalim before God flooded the Earth.
The purpose of parables is to convey objective truth in a form that is easily digested, whether they are literal, metaphorical, or both! God may have a hard time explaining the intricacies of the creation of the universe, the fall of the dinosaurs and the rise of the mammals to bronze age sheep herders, but if He changes the words to things they can easily perceive and are aware of, they can digest the lesson of the story in an abstract way that can be applied to their life, whether they ever know what truly happened or not. This, i believe, is why God chose to reveal Himself in this manner to us all. A human trying to understand a multidimensional, timeless, spaceless, immaterial, personal creator of all things that has, does, or will ever exist is like an ant trying to understand how a bill gets passed through congress. Metaphorical parables are a vital tool used to overcome this.
This is obviously connecting dots in a non-canonical direction, so i would never tell someone this without all the preface and explaing everything, but i find it super interesting!
