I'm glad there is no more bad blood between Gracie Juijitsu and Luta Livre. There are many schools of thought when it comes to who influenced whom more.
IMO, catch wrestling had just as much influence over ground grappling in Brazil as pre-war judo did. Meada honed his skill competing in catch wrestling fights.
The Gracies call it Juijitsu with or without the Gi. Luta Livre claims they were there the whole time as Brazil's folk style martial art, and that there is no, NoGi.
If it's grappling without the Gi, it's Luta Livre to them. One things certain Rickson was the baddest Gracie!
