minimum wage should be set by the states and based off of the cost of living in each state. after the minimum wages are set it should increase yearly by how much the cost of living increases…its very simple. but setting a country wide $15 an hour will have much different impacts on different states
$15 minimum wage is way too high. Yes, big companies like amazon, walmart, and disney can stomach paying this much but small businesses are already struggling to survive and there is no way in hell that they can afford to pay their workers $15 per hour. Let's not forget too that california is not the same as west virginia. There is a reason the federal minimum wage is so low and that's because some states are poorer than others. Seattle raised their minimum wage to $15 and the results were not great, if it didn't work in a big city like seattle how is it going to work in mississippi.
