I have lived through a massive cicada bug swarm in Houston Texas in 2004 or 2005. It was DREADFUL. They leave poop and black slime on everything, they are HUGE, LOUD AND DISGUSTING. Their noise is just irritating. TRULY A PLAGUE!
This time I believe it's a God event for people to wake up. They have forgotten Him.
