  1. The problem I have with this system, is many of these unemployed or underemployed graduates have selected degrees that provide little to no use in society. They chose something easy so they can party for 4 years on student loans, then get a harsh dose of reality once they graduate. This is not a sustainable system, and not one I want tax money going towards.

But, I agree having access to higher education is important. That’s why if we’re going to have tax-payer funded education for people, they need to select from a list of career that are needed most in society. Engineers, doctors, biologists, etc. Choose a high-demand degree to study, and you’ll get assistance. If you want to study something useless like Gender Studies or Art, then you pay for it on your own dime.

I think this is a fair compromise.

  2. Rich Americans do not want a level playing field because their silver-spoon entitled kids would have to compete with underprivileged kids for college enrollment and ultimately jobs. As such, the rich right wing continue to perpetuate the lie that Sanders is a communist. Socialism works in Canada, Australia, NZ, and most of Europe. Wealthy America would prefer to watch millions suffer than to have pay one dollar more in taxes. The greed is absolutely disgusting!
