I don’t agree with Bernie but credit where it’s due having a genuine conversation. It seems that Republicans and Bernie agreed that we have a mental health crisis, so why don’t we start where we have common ground rather than gun control?
I remember growing up and occasionally once in a while I'd hear or see something about the 1966 clock tower shooter in Texas. It always felt like some bizarre mythical event. Now I couldn't even remember half of the mass shootings that happened in 2023. I dont think that anyone really remembers 10 mass shootings ago unless they have a list to look at.
During the founding of this country the citizens had better guns than the military. The 2nd amendment was created to keep us free from a tyrannical government. It’s not just to own guns. It’s to keep us free.
What about the millions of people around the world that have been killed by American? Why should we give our guns and the right to protect ourselves to those people? The answer is not give up our freedoms for safety. Criminals don’t abide by laws. We already have background checks.
