Neil is a famous asshole. Plain and simple.
It seems bad on the surface, for what the guy said the timing. Comedians deal with that. I think he was just primed to answer that way. You can say what you want, it doesn't dictate what you actually feel.
Hey, "Don't be sad or have a big reaction to a mass shooting, because people die every day." We could also say: Hey graduating class, "Don't be happy because you graduated college.", “There are people that graduate college all of time." Some things, while true, just don't need to be said. It's just noise. "So stop smiling and feeling good, because you graduated college." This is the same rationale. NDGT loves to hear himself talk; in fact so much that he dismisses, interrupts and raises his voice to others who are simply trying to speak their views. He also often reminds us "simple-minded people", that he is an Astrophysicist, in case we have forgotten. He is increasingly growing more absurd and has taken on a full "God Complex." So, no matter the subject, do not argue with or question him; EVER. He will intimidate you, by yelling, interrupting you in mid-sentence, and reverting to words such as "So." How NDGT has suddenly become an expert in ALL things, arguing with experts in fields that he has no expertise on, baffles me. He often doesn't research information prior to discussions outside of his field and therefore, if you go and compile all of his ramblings, speeches, interviews, etc., you will find a plethora of contradictions. Does he make valid points? Sure. We can all make valid points, and they can be valid points on truth or lies. He is an Astrophysicist, not the guru of the Universe. People blindly accept everything he says as truth, and he feeds off of this; aware or unaware. He is not even a scientist. Stay in your lane NDGT. You're losing yourself. Maybe lay off the MJ and other substances for a while. Someone needs to gently bring him back. I once admired him , before he developed this superiority over others and blatant disregard for opinions that challaenge his. Now, he is just a puppet for politician's and Hollywood's agendas.
