Oh please Joe. "Pfft, I wasnt offended by it, I'm not a moron." That's just stupid. I can literally just as well say the same thing; I'm not an emotionless moron, and thus im disgusted by Neil's use of the mass shooting to say other people are dying too. Its not like I or anyone else cant read the data bro. You and him are virtue signalling just as much as anyone else that you're accusing of this. Bad timing, poor taste, no compassion. I think you're wrong here Joe. The outrage is 100% justified. Society is actively working on improving healthcare, making traffic safer, suicide prevention etc. What the fuck is being done about mass shootings? Flu, medical errors, car *accidents*: what's the common denominator? They're ACCIDENTS. What if you're out buying your daily groceries and someone runs in and starts gunning down you and whoever's in sight? That's fucking deliberate! When an attack like this happens, why does there have to be someone so shortly afterwards to tell us other people are dying too? Its not like we don't care about preventing medical errors, decreasing crime or making traffic safer, is it? We're just sad and fucking outraged that mass shootings are still happening and are happening frequently! Caring about and paying attention to what happened doesn't mean we don't care about other things, heck, it doesn't even mean you have to care about everything! I hate those situations in which people are trying to say that if you care about one thing, you also have to care everything else or else your caring for that original thing is invalid. I wonder if there's a scientific term for that.
There numbers are statistically true but not scientifically useful. This is the main issue that no one is discussing. Any statistic can be manipulated to fit a certain narrative. School shooting and mass shootings are a statistically American problem. No number of car accidents or medical errors can change that. Love NDGT but he got it wrong on this one in my opinion. Not all numbers are useful
