My heart goes out to him. I'm so glad his church is helping him and loving him through this.
I didn't know that it was important to confess your private sin to the church? Is it only bc he's the pastor? I just asked the Lord privately for forgiveness of my sin but i do still suffer with guilt feelings…

To guess any sin he may have committed is really a distraction. He is a good solid Teacher of the Word. Stepping away is appropriate, my guess is when the incident occurred he brought it to council and was asked to remain for the church growth. Now in the great resignation of 23, 24 this will happen more and more to Megachurches then the small ones. I will be praying for him and his family and for the church community.
When Francis Chan stepped away from his megachurch it is very clear he had a meeting with the Holy Spirit. He is better now then he ever was and smaller. Maybe this has happened to Pastor Evans as well.

I hope this news people see that a mega pastor fell short and is repenting in front of his church. I hope this shows all people that we need to repent and bring people back to Christ. I pray for him and his family
