  1. I always forget that Joe said he was leaving LA before the pandemic happened. I always thought the choice was because of the shut downs entirely but clearly here it was a thing before Covid. But once the shutdowns happened he finally pulled the trigger on it but I think it’s interesting that prior to shutdowns he still planned to maintain some life in LA still and drop in for things like the podcast and the store. But the shutdowns took away the remaining reasons Joe had to stay in LA at all and he relocated everything to Texas. I’m always amazed that people are able to live in a city like LA when you hear about how challenging it is to live a normal life. Even ignoring the major aspects of the city like the cost to live there or the high taxes I just don’t think I could do it because of the traffic and population alone. The thought of the difficulty to get anywhere around that city to even do mundane tasks just seems horrible. I get why people flock there for the chance to work in entertainment but it just seems like a miserable place to live. I just feel bad for the people who want to leave the place but don’t have the ability to do so because the cost to live there prevents the ability to save up the resources to be able to leave.

  2. I live in Denver, now 2 years later.
    He's right.
I pay $1400 a month for a run down 2 bd apartment in a neighborhood where people shoot at each other multiple times a week.
My 8 mile commute takes 40 minutes.
It's a matter of time before all of Colorado is like this.
