Lee's ability in a street fight as well as his attitude are likely somewhere in between the myth and this portrayal of a small man with a big mouth. Few others things to note though, he didn't have a background of fighting on film at that point, and probably got a lot of racist comments from people who grew up in America. So I can see him going hard on people that he probably overheard using derogatory slurs about him. One thing is known though, he asked for help on getting better at not hitting the stuntmen while filming.
In high school,I trained with Sadaka Nickabayashi, 9th Dan and a former WWII Japanese Intelligence officer. He was a great and kind man. I benefited from his teachings both in Red Bank, New Jersey and in the Kodakan in New York City. God rest his soul!
Yeah, based on real life, just like the flamethrower attack on the Manson Family. That's why all the universities say, "don't bother taking history lessons, just watch all the Quentin Tarantino movies and we'll give you a PHD in KnowItAllogy."
I do not think so. The whole film was rubbish from start to finish, boring really, and how Pitt won an Oscar is a miracle indeed.
As a practitioner of jet kon do master lee never advised giving 50 lbs fighting a gorilla not a smart move.
