I’m American gypsy. It doesn’t bother me the term gypsy. But rather how we pig-holed ourselves into not being a real race. Then it becomes this thing like being a hippie. It’s seen as something that describes something you do like traveling vs a real blood line. Words to me are meaningless. It’s the emotion behind those words. We call ourselves Romanichals. And stereotypes have given us a bad image. It seems like what’s viewed as negative ( stealing, scamming etc ) those are the gypsies that mainly step into the spot light about being gypsies and are the loudest. And for a small race it’s gets confusing to average outside races. Like seeing shirts “my gypsy soul” is insulting when seeing a person with absolutely no gypsy heritage wearing it. I appreciate those who have been kind in the recent years and acknowledge is as a real race rather than a lifestyle that all people aren’t the same based on race stereotypes. Joe Rogan has to be one of the most intelligent people I’ve listened to, that takes the time and understand something and get a real perspective on it. Not just this racial topic. But on about every topic I’ve heard him talk about. If everyone was like joe. The world would be an amazing place. His thought process is bomb and logical
