  1. The problem in this situation is that there are two levels on which a possible president is being judged: on policy positions and on character. This discussion should be simple if it only involves policy: you can be for or against each one of his policy positions, and the ones that are decisive to you, will decide which candidate you’ll go for.

    But with character, there are just a few personality traits you’d like a president to have. And Trump seems to have none of them. And those qualities are usually binary: you either have them or you don’t. And his positions towards minorities, immigrants, lgbt people, women, veterans, liberals, poor people, and the list goes on, are shocking. His approach to the office is shocking.

    Republicans are always made out to be “value voters”. Now, that’s a generalization we should talk about anyway, but in this case, they have put to the side any form of values they think their leader should have, just to get another republican in office.

    With that in mind, is it strange to see how some people come up in arms against those who voted for him? This is not just a policy discussion. This is a character problem.
