Joe I think in order to quell mass shootings, wee need to stop glorifying these POS. Plain and simple it seems most of the shooters are unrecognized people in their lives, they are bullied and feel insignificant, and by committing a mass shooting they get to rewards. not only do they get payback from the people that have mistreated them or even just people that resemble the people that mistreated them they get notoriety. I think that the media coverage and notoriety they receive somehow Sparks this interest in people wanting to commit mass murders. As far as mass shootings in schools, there are ways to keep a mass shooter from getting into certain areas of schools. nuclear powerhouses use a lot of different ways to slow persons down or contain them in certain areas that are in the plant trying to cause them harm for a security issue. Once there is a concern of security for the children in the school they can have different levels of doors that went an alarm is sounded all the doors closed and locked and you can trap a mass shooting individual in a certain area where there are no people. they have fire doors that close automatically once the fire alarm goes off so why couldn't they have a security threat the sequence of doors that could trap a person trying to commit a mass shooting in a certain area.
