Idk where most kids my age went to school but I got paddled multiple times growing up and When my daughter gets to that age if they still do it the principal has my permission I’m only 19 maybe it’s cause I live in the south idk.
When you hit someone to teach them a lesson you risk teaching them to hit other people when they're frustrated. Also some kids will itch for the chance to be grown and big enough to physically stop someone, especially a parent that relies on hitting them, from doing so. There's a lot of people advocating this whole "Beat your kid's ass, I got hit when I was a kid" thing and honestly it's kinda alarming if you can't solve a problem or maintain authority over a growing child without putting your hands on them.
