John Carmack, not a single filler word or a stutter throughout the entire interview. He speaks so damn fluently, I can't even compare anyone to it. It's like he always knows what to say.
3:10 John is so wrong on that. Sports viewership still absolutely dwarfs esports viewership. Sports is measured in live peak concurrent viewers where as a lot of these articles that claim millions are watching esports but when you actually dig deeper a lot of the time they are actually reporting the total views over a week long event or tournament. Just think about it demographically for about 2 seconds and its obviously absurd. Sports is popular with kids to 90 year olds, basically no one over about 45 is watching. Only about 10 times ever has a twitch stream gone over a million concurrent viewers, in a lot of pro sports literally the average regular season game will go over that multiple times a week all year round. And that is on paid subscription channels not a free stream like twitch. I'm not hating on esports at all by the way, I just don't see the need to inflate and lie about the viewership.
