No man should aspire to be like John Carmack
Those who want to sell you crap they tell you that it cures cancer. VR health dangers overcome any benefits they proclaim it provides.
I can't understand why people want to throw money on something that gives them a broken bone, a headache and bad vision, it even fries your eyes, it's like you pay someone to hit you with a hammer and poke your eyes.
I suspect that once VR gets a bit better, I will give it a try, get hooked, and never want to come out again.
For those of us on the spectrum, especially, the appeal of being able to mold "reality" to suit our unusual wants and needs will be irresistible.
in a vr game, you're not just playing it you're literally in it, with a real-life 1:1 scale. You can see the size of the head crab in relation to you, you can see the actual size of a blue whale or t-rex in relation to you. You can't get this experience in a regular game.
