I am really stuck on not forgiving the unforgivable. I do not see a way to say to someone that tries to kill you, I love you. Albeit safe to say that, words should be unique to the situation and audience (something I am weak at), I do not see where written words or spoken words must be "nice" or polite when the audience has proved to be unreceptive to required communication.
If someone is breaking your arm to make you suffer and you are not being given the chance to say stop, put the dog down. I see no room for any conversation beyond rebuking obscenity to accompany the act of self-preservation.
