  1. I saw hendrix in Balboa Park san diego cal. Late 60s? small softball park
Cement bench seats small venue he seemed real high, he was late. played star spangled banner, he was off and running and no one new what thay were looking at or what he was playing. It was all very new. I just new I was suppose to stay and listen. Guitar players must have been shocked. Many people left at the begining songs. Cause thay never heard anything quite like that sound. The small crowed were (a hundred maybe)coming off of Peter paul and Mary in that time period. I saw a few people leaving early. Not organized event. I don't remember having to pay or if any one was collecting money. Reminds me of a garage band.
More like a rehearsal. It was Intense and more. Ya need some acid for this shit. Very heavy stuff

  2. The truth is what happened in that time was organic in a sense for sure, yes, however it was instigated by corporate phycology to great degree. In the 60's media started encouraging individuality through advertising and in basically every format/avenue they could. The motivation was to sell things of course, it was the start of the boomer consumer society. Watch the Century of the Self, an old great BBC docu. It's so worth it. It will help change the way you see much of modern history to a more understandable and accurate way.

Definitely the late 60's and well into the 1970's was the most experimental and beautiful time in rock music history, and in the film industry as well. So many amazing artists, songs, albums and movies from that era. More than from any other time in terms of sheer originality. They became very innovative times artistically.
