I think it was more than drugs, it was also media exposure , TV and radio and marketing, come on Joe , its a meeting of various factors between 1949 and 1969, not least a lot of these families had no dads or PTSD dads from the war….fridges, washing machines, automobiles, all created a space where kids didn't have to work anymore, absent parents, changed school curricula, cheaper instruments, TV in every house, the analysis of that by you is candy sweet but a bit weak and shallow.
