When “critics” review comedy specials nowadays, they don’t review how funny it was, but rather how politically incorrect it was. Therefore, almost by definition, the worse the review, the funnier the special.
PSA: RT simply aggregates scores from certified critics who are not directly affiliated with RT (for example, critics could write for Vanity Fair or Esquire).
And also, RT did not intentionally hide the audience score from Chappelle’s special, the audience scores are usually posted well after the critic scores since the audience score takes longer to aggregate.
Don’t blame RT, blame the out-of-touch critics.
