If they continued to build the tower, they would have eventually realized that they could not in fact reach the heavens, as we now know it isn't possible, so it seems most logical that it would have been a better lesson in allowing the people to build and as they work together, they would come to realize the limitations of man. Scattering them and introducing languages to prevent them from being able to communicate and unite as one people created tribalism on earth which is not a good thing, and it has in fact led to many conflicts amongst men – So for me the Tower of Babel and gods' response to it is all the proof I need to know that god is most definitely NOT a good guy and It's entirely possible that Lucifer is in fact the true ally of mankind while god is the true Enemy of Mankind
