  1. I watched this video years ago and didn’t understand what Neil was saying, but after rewatching I understand.

    Listening in on people’s conversations is obviously a gross violation of their privacy, but even from an amoral, results-driven perspective the practice is counterproductive.
    If you attempt to presume a person’s preference of products before they have purchased them (and with that comes the logistics of bringing those products to market before they are purchased), you are constricting competition.

    Instead of listening in on someone to predict their thoughts, you are literally better off just not giving them choices.
