  1. I'm browsing to buy a new laptop which I then buy. Google knows I've talked about new laptops and it has seen me browsing them so it recommends me them.
But I've already bought one, I won't be looking for another in the next, what, five years.
So Google please, advertise me appliances for it.

  2. The first time i saw this video before i was impressed how accurate NDT is about channeling consumers on what to buy. But watching it now, i realized he's wrong. My opinion is that, data collectors and ads company are not that stupid. The only thing they channel you so that you will buy only the specific brands that the ads company have paid. Think of like his example about wine. Yes, you go to the wine store to buy red wine, but there are hundreds of brands out there in the isle. These data collectors job is to spoon feed the consumer that the brand that the ads company paid for is going to be the first and in front of the isle so it would be likely to be picked first. The next will be, for the data collectors to figure out what the consumer needs. Probably a cork opener? A wine glass? Or a charcuterie board? That's the next they suggest, and the loop goes on. I don't think these data collectors restrict you on what to buy, maybe its just brands.
