If you think about, real life encourages violence much more. We glorify soldiers who fight in wars, who kill people and arrest citizens of other countries on the suspicion of terrorism. Most people know at least one juvie kid growing up, or had teenaged friends that where in gangs. I've been to MMA fights where violence is honored through skillful, dedicated athletes. Art applies violence in ways most people haven't seen, and too many critics want to pretend there is no such thing as violence for violence's sake.
I stopped listening to Rob Zombie when Astro-Creep came out. Everything he put out after La Sexorcisto ended up being garbage. Don't get me started about him going diva. /grumble
Wasn’t PG-13 not a thing when jaws came out? I know there’s a bunch of ones where there PG and raunchy, Bad news bears is one that was PG as well.
