  1. Mordrake's condition sounds disturbingly similar to the jinmenso of Japanese mythology and folklore. Supposedly a jinmenso was a face shaped boil or sore which caused excruciating pain to the victims body and the pain could only be alleviated by feeding human foods to the face-sore. Some have claimed that the human faced sore was a sentient creature, like a thinking parasite.

  2. While the story is probably fictitious, the basic elements of the story arent entirely unbelievable. Parasitic twins are an interesting phenomenon. Theres a lot of weird things that happen in this world that we would disbelieve even if we saw it with our own eyes. Compared to some of the mysteries of life this guy os practically ordinary.
