All religions are a pyramid scheme with extra steps.
This is a really seductive argument to a teenager.
Why not throw the creator God, of the universe in the same bucket as every other lower case g gods?
Why would there be a lower case god?
Because when people were living long ages before God reduced the life span of man to 120 years, there were people living 700 years old.
Ok well if George Washington was still alive and survived all these wars America had and there was still some founding fathers around we’d start calling George a god.
And if Benjamin Franklin was alive they’d call him a god.
And if we had the whole set of 1000 people from the 1700’s still alive we’d call them gods.
And if someone said, “they’re not ACTUALLY gods, don’t worship them!”
“Ok I’ll throw them all in the don’t worship bucket.”
“Oh…and while you’re at it, throw the Creator in that same bucket.”
That’s the folly of atheism is the confusion of the Big God and all the other superficial “lower case G” gods.
“Don’t throw the Baby out with the bath water.”
What if I believe in all gods? Atheism is not believing in a certain pantgeon or god its not having any god or pantheon. If you have one god then you are a theist not an atheist.
