he is a scientist. that likes to play philosopher. he is european too and europeans have very little spiritual depth. thats about it. let them enjoy science just dont try to use it to impose european will on others. something lack of spiritual depth leads to arrogance.
If you consider Turkey from the Muslim world(wihch I dont) %20 of its population are atheists and only %10 of the population is only practicing the religion.
