PASSOVER and Pagan Practices: What You Should Know (AND AVOID) FYTube

Shalom family, Pesach (Passover) 2023 is almost upon us, and there’s something that needs to be voiced. It seems that many of you have questions about the meal, and the service; rightly so. The scriptures tell us to eat three things: lamb, unleavened bread and bitter herbs, that’s it. Yet, the predominant rendition of the Passover meal, is the seder plate, and service. Most are unaware, that this practice stems from pagan origins, as we will prove momentarily. Is this something we should be intermingling with this holy day that represents Messiah?

  1. Question; is your pronunciation of YAHUSHA not just an English pronunciation of the transliterated Hebrew word. So how is that better than Jesus or Joshua, "the Lord is Salvation," also derived from Hebrew word Yeshua. My point is, the English translation vs the Hebrew translation or even the Greek translation chosen to identify the Saviour is no more pious than the Latin translation. The heart, spirit and submission to that name seems to be of much, much more importance. Since, most everyone in the world has heard the name "Jesus," it seems more beneficial as a witness to employ that name which is most easily understood by those to whom I'm speaking. Words are mere tools to convey thought so; whichever, tool is most efficient would logically be most advantages to use. Just an inquiry, not seeking a debate just an understanding of the motivation.
    Thank You!

  2. I, for the first time in my Cristian life, am seeking to celebrate the Passover instead of Easter. Believing the "Feast of the Lord," should be observed. So I was delighted to see the description title of your video only to be disappointed by it's content – WHY? You show scripture to condemn certain events in the Passover Seder but do not show the clear NT Scriptures condoning some events – How did Jesus (Our True Example) partake of the Passover? Did He recline while eating, did He incorporate any of the traditions such as 4-glasses of wine, or dipping into the sop? Yes, according to what I have read, He clearly did! As a matter of fact the 3rd cup of wine was known as the cup of redemption, drank after supper, which he used to initiate the Lord's Table. So it seems obvious that Jesus celebrated the feast through a Seder of some sort. What's unclear are the events He chose to observe and those they did not. In my humble opinion based on Scriptural principals learned after a BS in Biblical Studies and several years teaching Adults and Teenagers, outside of clear Scriptural commands and teachings God is more interested in the heart of the law than the letter of the law. Meaning, in gray areas "let grace cover a multitude of sins." I will observe the Passover and hope to include those events or elements that clearly picturing our Messiah, i.e. the AFIKOMEN. Thank you for your help!

  3. 1 Corinthians 11:24-26
24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of Me.”

25 In the same manner also He took the cup when He had supped, saying, “This cup is the new testament in My blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

26 For as often as ye eat this bread and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord’s death until He come.
