The problem with me too is that it started from good intentions but was quickly co-opted by the attention-seeking 'woke' lot who, upon seeing an opportunity to turn a supportive movement into a self-righteous one, they started scouring their mental databases for anything they could use to join in and take a share of the pity pie.
Now it's become a celebrity joke and real cases are buried under a mound of 'he brushed my elbow. Rape!' rubble.
Such a shame because initially, it was incredibly supportive and encouraging of genuine victims of sexual assault to come forward.

The thing is, MeToo was a real thing, but Time's Up was a jack and a power grab by already powerful and wealthy people (mostly women) in the entertainment industry to capitalize on and deflect from a very real problem with sexual abuse in their very own industry and fill the power vacuum left behind after guillotining all these executives. It really became this weird mafia demanding donations and benefits like high profile director/writer jobs that inevitably went to the friends of one of these A-listers. They don't care about average women unless they can use it for branding and furthering their own cynical goals.
