My asthma starts to calm down the closer I get to my inhalers and prednisone. Once – not once – as a child, my family and I were at an amusement park (the CNE in Toronto) some 1 hour away from home, and I left my rescue inhaler at home, and I had an asthma attack, and the whole family rushed home, and as we did and I knew I was getting closer to home my asthma started to calm down to the point that when we got home and I had the inhaler in my hand I stopped wheezing completely. Then I felt, as anyone escape death, heavenly. But the rest of the family was pissed, kind of. Not for long.
