My older sister turned me onto this movie. She was always a hardcore punk rocker and just into human rights and progress and I remember watching it with her and she said "I always hope for a different ending" and I've watched it a lot since then and I do too. Every single time.
He's so good at taking on roles and getting into character that it drives his co-workers insane
There's so many movie reactions to the film and a lot of it gets focused on the racial matters of "that" time. Nobody stops to think how it parallels to now. It's easy to look at a nazi symbol in a movie and say "this character is wrong for that" when the cycle is happening now with leftists and hollywood siding with a different terrorism flag that means the same thing. Americans need to step back and mean it when thinking terrorism is wrong.
How that script didn't immediately red-pill Norton, I'll never know. Its racial arguments seemed beyond reproach. It's too bad Norton forced the director to mutilate the ending. It could have been legendary.
They'll probably never make another movie like American history X. Too real and too raw for the snowflakes but in reality it sheds light on the underbelly of America
