Every addict knows that they're only one bad day from relapsing, and I say that as an alcoholic in recovery.
Support helps, 12 Step groups help most people, getting out of 'the life' helps, but at the end of the day it's just you and your monkey. No addict is ever 'cured'; I'll be fine until I'm not, then I'll get back on the wagon and start over.
You’re not supposed to. The 12-Step program is “One day at a time…”

I've never gotten high, but I've smoked weed once, back when I was about 19, my friend offered me a couple hits off of his glass pot pipe thing, and I thought "f*ck it, might as well try it out", and… the reason I say I've smoked pot, but I've never been high is because I didn't get high, I took 2 or 3 good hits off of it, and all I got was a VERY mild headache, so… (shrug)…
