I've always seen that the older brother is in grave danger. The Father has to go outside of His banquet to talk with him. The boy is living in unforgiveness. If you live in unforgiveness, you cannot be forgiven!
I see something else in the story of the woman caught IN adultery. Even as a teen I wondered, "Where's the man? Isn't he just as guilty?" Were they trying to kill, silence, or threaten the woman as well ?
We were estranged from our son for 5 years. He wanted nothing to do with us, his wife made him choose between his family or her. Now they're getting divorced, we have missed 6 yrs of our only grandchilds life. Who did he turn to when everything fell in a heap?? Yes, us his parents. We welcomed him with open arms, he cried on my shoulder, I comforted him. I think he's realised that love does forgive and conquer all. Btw, even though our daughter in law has been very unkind to us, we don't hold any grudges, it won't help anything. I pray for her. That is God's love in action.
