It’s an antagonist at the mu opioid receptor as opposed to fentanyl, heroin etc being full agonists. However while its wonderful and does save lives, it’s not a perfect panacea as some of the fentanyl analogues are so strong that they won’t be knocked of the receptor with Narcans use.
