I've had 4 back surgeries, a fusion of L4,5,6 S1, and my doctor & I spend a couple years figuring out the right combination of therapy, massage, exercise, Neurontin and Methadone.
Then Jeff Sessions ignored all the pain management doctors who told him the harm he was going to do by taking away chronic pain and HOSPICE care patients pain meds and he did it anyway, so get his "political victory."
My methadone was cut from 60mg a day to 20mg. Two pills is a day is a joke. I am disabled. I won a mid six digit settlement b/c of what they did to my back, and I get 2 pills a day….
Many people in my support group have gone to buying heroin on the street. Very good people. Grandparents. Veterans. – One lady I talk to cries every time she has to go "down to that place" to buy $350 per month. She's scared they'll noticed she always has $350 on her & she'll get robbed.
Jeff Sessions is a POS. He better hope he never runs in to me in real life.

The "over prescribing" theory. It's completely false.
A huge problem is the way they train doctors to prescribe drugs and the insane information the doctors give patients about the dangers and also alternatives. I had been on adderall and wanted to explore alternatives and I asked my doctor what my options were and he told me that unfortunately once you've been exposed to drugs to treat my issue alternatives have almost no effect because my brain has been accustomed to the drugs. Which to this day I don't know if that's true or not
