I've always wondered, if god is all powerful, knowing, and seeing doesn't that mean that he saw the devil tempting eve, and knew everything that would have happened and had the power to do anything and everything about it. It seems to me that god needs us to suffer or wants us to suffer, which brings me to the conclusion that evil is necessary for god's plan wether he commits it, or allows someone else to. Either that or he's just a sadist, which oddly enough is something that religious people are prone to be. A study found that believers in a religion were far less likely to be psychopaths but more likely to be sadists.
