1. Adam was not created first. Ha'adam was. Now just stay with me for a second and you'll understand why there's such a misunderstanding. Ha'adam was created in God's image – male and female, as God said. It wasn't a rib, the word that's mistranslated is TSELA. That word is never used again in either the older New Testament to mean rib, and when the New Testament does talk of a rib it actually uses a different word. Tsela is used in several variation in the Torah, as mentioned it denotes the two sides of something, or something comprised of two parts.
Thus it wasn't the rib of ha'adam that made Eve. God basically separated the creation into two sides one male and one female, which is why in Hebrew only at that point is he addressed by the name Adam to differentiate from the initial creation, Ha'adam. He, in turn, names Eve
Feel free to look at the biblical Hebrew and their translation. Actually I highly suggest doing that in general because we Christians have massively been cheated of our historocity, folklore, legends, rabbinal commentary, mythology, the teachings of the sages like the zohar, perhaps the talmud, etc) that own our faith and it's messages seemed to have just been is discarded?
