  1. This story has nothing to do with bad parenting or immoral characters, which is why each son was preferred by the other parent. This story is the same as any other in the Bible. It about obedience and judgement. Looking at Jacob as an evil doer would be no different than looking at one of who is possessed as a demon himself. A deceitful spirit through Jacob tested Esau as Satan did Jesus in the dessert. The fact that the inheritance belonged to Esau first is proof that God showed no partiality. Esau through free will traded his birthright for ONE meal. That’s like a smack in the face to God. That is like if Jesus would have heeded to Satan and turned the stone to bread. Esau was supposed to remain obedient as Jesus did, but he waivered and caused his own demise. His descendants didn’t parish because the Lord hated them, they parish because they hate the Lord and deny commands.

  2. So wait… Jacob refused to let his own brother Esau eat from the family's pot of soup after going out to hunt for meat so that the family would have more food to eat and nearly starves in the wilderness, and Jacob used that as leverage to take Esau's inheritance for his own gain…and people think Esau was the wicked one because of this? Then, Isaac asks Esau to bring him food from the wilderness in exchange for the blessing of amazing fortune, and Jacob engages in identity theft and graft to steal the blessing for himself…and JACOB IS THE GOOD GUY?! Who the fuck honestly bases their sense of morality on stories like this?
