  1. Jesus' work is not finished. Jesus is at work right now. Jesus says:

    ■ "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." (Jesus, in

    Revelation 3:19)

He is the potter, we are the clay. While we abide in Him in repentance, following the lead He

provides through the holy spirit, we remain "in his goodness" or grace (Romans 11:22) and we are

    not under condemnation:

    ■ "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not

after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Romans 8:1)

While we abide in Him in repentance, following the lead He provides through the holy spirit,

Jesus advocates for us with the Father (1 John 2:1) and covers —present tense— new sins by His

    blood (1 John 1:7).

What did Jesus finish on the cross? He gave His life to make His death and blood available to

cover the death penalty we earn for sin.

That was what He came to do (Matthew 20:28) and that is what He finished on the cross.

He gave His life to make His death and blood available as a ransom. With that ransom He can

now —as our living advocate with the Father— redeem us:

    ■ "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a

peculiar people, zealous of good works." (Titus 2:14)

Without the redemption He made available on the cross, we would all be hopelessly doomed to

perish. We would all perish in death as the "wages" of our sin (Romans 6:23). But now, thanks to

Jesus, coverage of our death penalty is available.

What do we need to do to have this redemption, this coverage? We need to follow directions:

    ■ "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to

    repent" (Acts 17:30)

Follow directions, and we'll receive His promised mercy:

    ■ "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall

    have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13)

If we'll follow directions, our past sins will be "blotted out," and we'll receive the gift of the holy

spirit . . . by which we'll enter His "presence":

    ■ "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of

refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19, NKJV).

    ■ "And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given

to them that obey him." (Acts 5:32)

    ■ "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus

Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)

Otherwise, outside of repentance, we will perish. We'll receive no mercy, and no redemption.

    Jesus warned:

    ■ "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Jesus, in Luke 13:5)

Peter makes it clear: come to repentance, or else perish:

    ■ "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is

longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to

    repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

Jesus saves believers. True believers —like Abraham— are those who act on their faith and

obey God. Otherwise faith is dead.

Connecting the dots . . . today Jesus is

    ■ "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him" (Hebrews 5:9)

  2. Jesus knew that humanity was so far from the

truth .. that – IF they should be saved, they

needed .. FIRST OF ALL .. patience.

Patience – is "The Love" – God is showing humanity.

Respect – is "The Love" – humanity shall show God.

A part of that respect – is to show OUR patience

    to our neighbours.

That is .. the forgiveness we give.

    ===

If we had waited .. to get "The Wisdom" – from "The

Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil" .. until we were

developed to get it – we would have understood this.

Because Satan tempted us, to get this wisdom – before

we were developed to understand it .. Jesus had to say

(as a part of the salvation): "Lord forgive them,

because they – don't know – what they are doing".

Satan knew that: IF we got this knowledge, before we

were prepaired to get it .. The Way – we would understand

    it – would destroy us.

The proof of that – should be very visible – in the world

we are living in .. to-day.
