The antiviral activity is because there are lots of the wood having a compound called lignin in it. It is the stuff that gives wood its toughness. The enzymes would break this down and generate a lot of polyphenolic compounds some of which have antiviral properties. Cordyceps has a lot of interesting compounds with amine and amide adjuncts from processing proteins in the bugs. You can grow it easily on combination cakes of rice and chickpea meal. Process is a bit more tricky, but if you can grow magic mushrooms, it isnt much more complex.❤
