I’m glad they mentioned that comedians who are “edgy” get rewarded. Everyone loves saying it’s too woke these days to be funny but really comedians who aren’t woke are the ones everyone rejoices over and thinks are so out of the box.
This was a great podcast so no disrespect meant but Matt reminds me so much of private pile from full metal jacket

Cmon this is the funniest time to be alive. Traditional comedy is for the old generation. Memes has taken over comedy. You can 100% find the funniest sht in the world on the internet if you can find it.
I think some of the very best comedians, Chappelle, Burr, hopefully Louis again, are producing great work right now. But in terms of overall health I'd say comedy isn't looking too good. I personally find a lot of the younger comics today to be kinda lame and uninteresting. Stand up comedy is kinda a masculine, lone wolf artform that isn't appreciated or encouraged in our current climate. The individual is frowned upon right now.
