  1. The passive-aggressive tone of the flat earther is so instigating just by itself. He sounds like a kid set on proving the store is still open with a baseless argument (like "they said on the news it would be open 24 hours") because he wants to bully his parents into getting him a toy, and he will not let it go until they do.
I'm worried that people who believe on flat earth, and similar topics are mostly (according to statistics) under the age of 30.
Why is it that in an age where information is so readily available, all you have to do it look, that more readily available crap like that is what they gravitate to? A teenager's rebellious attitude to against the norm maybe? Against the establishment? Or the immediate consumption of at-the-hand satisfaction of not having to wait for anything (like for instance us X's gens, we went to the Library to investigate a subject and had to even do our own due diligence since the books we found might not completely satisfy an investigation) leads to letting someone else guide your analytical mind? Maybe Analytical is a stretch though… not wanting to read more than a paragraph in a chat or post, let alone literature that doesn't have pictures or is actually animated and narrated. Hating direct interaction like a phone call or a face-to-face conversation without screens in the middle. Taking everything at face value while you hungrily scroll through video after video looking for your next dopamine rush or adrenalin-filled rage (which lasts until the next cool Lypsinc dance video comes along).
Today it's more important to get an "identity" correct and not offend, or feel offended on behalf of a third party, than it is to, take the time and confirm or debunk an argument from an online video, unless it's just a confirmation-byas-based search. Like what that hateful wimp from the video they are watching is doing.

  2. Saying somebody is wrong is not proof that they are wrong.
I have no respect for so called 'Intellectuals" that just parrot whatever they where taught without any proof or any ability to prove it.
If you can't definitively prove whatever statement you're making then your argument is purely faith based.
Also if you're getting angry, that's proof that you subconsciously know you're wrong and the person pissing you off is rite.
