So I'm coming in from a neutral point of view.
The 1st coming was the Great Flood as claimed. Before the flood, during the flood until Jesus, God constantly sends prophets to lead human away from Sins but failed.
Before the flood, God sent prophets to save humans. Well, obviously he failed. And what's the alternative God had? The Great Flood. God's solutions to sin is death. Is like: "OK I tried to save them. Nothing is working. Kill them all and start fresh" So is God really that merciful? God is willing to kill God's ppl created in God's image knowing God itself is incompetent by sending incompetent prophet to do God's work.
Now left only Noah and his family in the ark with other creatures. So instead of flooding all humans, God keep the selected ones and they are sinners as well. Instead of wiping out all the sinners, God left a few So that sinners can grow again. And guess what? As sinners grows, God had no choice that God has to send more prophets into the earth to do what?
Now that finally God noticed God's prophets are useless that God decided to send God's son "Jesus" into the world to die for our sin and Jesus blood cleanse us. Now let's be clear, sins are acts / behaviors of human against God's will. So Jesus didn't really die for our sin, because Jesus didn't take away the sins. What Jesus did was just being a Hero to bear the punishment for humans and nothing more. The act/behavior of sins in humans remains.
Now that sins continues, God knew the plan for Jesus isn't working as well hence God's just declare for the 2nd coming of Jesus which is to end the world. Even God gave up on his failures to correct the sins that God couldn't bother to send anymore prophet to earth to lead and guide us.
Again, God's only solution to clear all sins is death. Only this time God grew a little smarter to wipe the entire earth rather than saving a few. Finally, God learnt God's mistake after so long.
