People who chum the water are stupid. They are ringing the dinner bell to sharks barracudas and anything else that eats meat. Then they jump in the middle and are SURPRISED when one dares to bite someone!
There are several places in Hawaii where the local dolphins are regularly interacting with people. I’ve watched them for 30 years from my house. The pod grows to massive size in the summer as the aggregate.
Sd and Hawaiian islands are over 2000 miles apart

Got to swim with dolphins in the bay in Kona. Wasn't planned theybwere just there. Was awesome, and of course the go pro died, never forget it though.
