Tim Dillon kept talking with mouth full of food for Food network, grossed them out.
It’s not in the same lane as Bourdain, but Brad Leone’s Going Places and David Chang’s Ugly Delicious are up there in terms of engaging in food but also the culture and individuals from it. Tone differences aside they’re pretty solid shows.
Entertainment is all about glam, wealth and optimization. They took away the working mans badge of honor.
Sit with a old guy at the bus stop someday and ask him about the first time he got laid. There are great stories everywhere, but sadly you won’t find them in mainstream media today.
