I do not believe that committing ourselves to a form of law is the life God has brought us to.
Living a life of law is what made me realize that I was not righteous, that I was not as good as I thought I was, and that my only hope of restoring my relationship with God and becoming spiritually alive was by God's mercy.
After that experience of trying to be obedient. Why then would I recommit myself to a life under the law ("making Jesus your lord" as some call it) when it is clear that I cannot be obedient?
If I chose to go back to the way of the law then I will be putting myself back into serious bondage. I will have to be dishonest about my sinfulness and to compensate for my inadequacies I will need to compare myself to people who are "more sinful" than I am just so I can believe that I am obedient and my life will be one of both religious pride and false reality. This is not the life I think God wants for us.
Instead, I believe there is a different life that God has for us. If a person recognizes their condition, If they realize that they cannot be obedient and they fall upon the mercy of God. Then they have met the criteria of the New Covenant. Now they can begin a new life. One of trust and reliance on God. Not one of repentance and obedience.
Jesus Christ loves you, so much that He died for you on the cross, to pay the penalty of your sins so that you wouldn't have to. We all have sinned and are deserving of God's wrath, but by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross there is full pardon for whoever believes. Put your full trust and believe in Him for salvation today, because in Him there's eternal life and freedom. Who the Son sets free is free indeed 🙏🏻
